Price, Erma Cathrine Jacobs Mrs. – Obituary

Baker City, Oregon

Erma Cathrine Price, 70, a longtime Baker City resident, died Aug. 1, 2002, at St. Elizabeth Health Services.

Her memorial service will be Tuesday at 2 p.m. at Gray’s West & Co. Pioneer Chapel, 1500 Dewey Ave. Deryl Leggett of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints will officiate. Vault interment will be at Mount Hope Cemetery.

Visitations are today until 8 p.m. at Gray’s West & Company.

Erma was born Sept. 19, 1931, in Baker to Howard and Goldie Jacobs. She graduated from Baker High School.

She married John F. Price on May 2, 1950. They were married for 30 years. They lived and worked in California until they moved back to Baker in 1969. Erma worked at St. Elizabeth Hospital as the billing manager for several years.

Erma enjoyed arts and crafts, square dancing, and family outings. Her favorite activity was sitting in her backyard and watching the deer that ate the apples from the trees.

She is survived by four children, Raymond of Baker City, Johnny and his wife, Karla, of Baker City, Norman of Layetteville, Ga., and Cathy Robbs and her husband Steve of Boise; two brothers, Dewayne Jacobs and his wife, Patty, of Hermiston, and Dewey Jacobs of Baker City; two sisters, Oddetta Miller and her husband, Frank, of Baker City, and Ethel Rodger and her husband, Vern, of Baker City; and six grandchildren, Jason and Shalene Robbs, and Mandi, Chris, Ray and Kyle Price.

She was preceded in death by her husband, John Price; her mother and father; two brothers and one sister.
