Jess Richard Trump

Jess Richard Trump, 83, died June 4 at his home in Elgin. A graveside service will begin at 11 a.m. Friday at the Elgin Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Daniels Chapel of the Valley, La Grande.

Mr. Trump was born March 22, 1924, to Lacey and Lula (Lyons) Trump in Wallowa and graduated from Elgin High School. During World War II he served with the Army until being honorably discharged in 1945.

On July 5, 1946, he married Deloris Jean Read. Jess worked as a machinist and welder in Portland until he retired in 1978.

In 1982 he moved to Elgin. Jess enjoyed hunting, fishing, billiards, cards and sports.

Survivors include his wife, Deloris Jean Trump; children, Terry Trump and Peggy Koniak; siblings, Lloyd, Everett, Emit, Jack, Harry, Hazel and Willa; and seven grandchildren.
