Mrs. Viola Inez Keyes, wife of W. S. Keyes, died at the family home two miles south of Cottage Grove, Wednesday noon [October 19, 1938]. Mrs. Keyes was born September 21, 1866 in Lane County, Oregon and has lived in the vicinity of Cottage Grove all her life.
She was a daughter of the late Rev. Joseph Sharp, a pioneer merchant of Cottage Grove and minister of the Christian Church. She was married December 31, 1893, at Eugene to W. S. Keyes, who with one daughter, Mrs. Stanley Trunnel of Eugene, survives. She was a member of the Christian Church.
Funeral service will be held Friday afternoon at two o’clock at Mills Chapel. Rev. E. L. Kechley, pastor of the Christian Church, will officiate. Interment will be at Taylor-Lane Cemetery.
