James M. Childers, 69, of Cove died Sunday at the Walla Walla, Washington Veterans Administration Hospital. Services will be announced by Daniels Valley Funeral Chapel.

James Marvin (Red) Childers

Marvin Childers, 69, Cove, died Sunday at the Veterans Administration Hospital in Walla Walla.

Mr. Childers was born August 27, 1907 in Summerville, the son of James Henry and Laura Lou (Anderson) Childers. He served in World War II and was a farmer most of his life.

Survivors include his son Robert Childers, Portland; brother Avon Childers, Cove; two grandchildren; other relatives and friends.

Services will be held 2 p.m. Thursday at the Summerville Cemetery Chapel, with Rev. Jim Frisbie of the Cove Methodist Church officiating. Concluding services will follow at the Summerville Cemetery.

Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Daniels Valley Funeral Chapel.
