Biographical Sketch of Rosa Gazelle Lane

Rosa Gazelle, daughter of Dr. Andrew Jackson Lane born March 27, 1851 in Giles County, Tennessee graduated from the University of Louisiana in 1874, married December 25, 1877, Lucinda F. Journeycake nee Elliott, born April 14, 1852 at Leavenworth Kas. He died Oct. 31, 1896; Lane born Jan. 31, 1882 near Oowala, Cherokee Nation. She was educated at the Oowala public school, Female Seminary, graduating June 9, 1903, Lexington, Mo. and Petersburg, Virginia.

Taught school several years and elected City Clerk of Claremore in 1921. She is a member of the Claremore Eastern Star Chapter and P. E. O. Sisterhood, chapter K. at Tulsa.
