Violet May Coyner Ormsby was the oldest child of L. D. and Martha Coyner. She was born February 11, 1865 in Montgomery County a half mile south of White Church, where she lived her entire life; died April 20, 1911, at 7 o’clock, aged 46 years, 2 months, and 9 days. She was married to W. O. Ormsby August 14, 1884, and this union was blessed with four children, two sons and two daughters-Francis E. at home; William C., of this vicinity; Mrs. W. O. Stuckey, of near Colfax, and Martha Grace, at home. She had been quite sick for two months but had been going down for nearly three years.
Mrs. Ormsby will be greatly missed by her dear father and mother, who lived so close to her; also she will be missed by her many dear neighbors and friends, as she was a woman ever ready to help the sick and needy. She leaves to mourn her loss a loving companion, dear father and mother, four children, one grandchild, three sisters, one brother, three nieces, four nephews, and a host of other near relatives and friends.
The funeral was conducted at the residence Saturday afternoon at 2 o’clock by Elder G. M. Dunbar of Darlington. Interment was in Bowers Cemetery, near her home.
