While we know our northern friends may not feel it, in the South, Spring is
here. So we thought we'd share a few of our gardening sites appropriate
for this time of the year. Along with gardening, there's grilling, and getting
ready to diet so that you can fit back into that bathing suit this summer!
Arendahronon
('rock people'). One of the four chief tribes of the Huron, having the
most easterly situation and claiming to be the first allies of the French,
who founded among them the missions of St Jean Baptiste, St Joachim, and
Ste Elisabeth. In 1639 they were said to have been resident of the Huron
country for about 50 years. In 1649, on the political destruction and
expulsion of the Huron tribes by the Iroquois, the inhabitants of St Jean
Baptiste submitted in a body to the Seneca, who adopted them. They
constituted the Stone, or Rock, tribe of the Huron. See Jesuit Relation
for 1639, 40, 1858.
