Thompson, Mabel V. – Obituary

Friends Mourn Mable Thompson Imnaha, Oregon Mrs. Mabel V. Thompson daughter of Henry and Ella Creasey who came to Wallowa County at the age of eight years with her mother, Ella Rodriguez, passed away at Valley View Manor in La Grande, on Thursday May 18, 1967. She had been a patient there for the past month. She was born June 26, 1877 in Dell Prairie, Wisconsin, and had lived on the Imnaha most of her life. She was married November 23, 1893 on the Imnaha to Mark P. Thompson who preceded her in death on April 2, 1943. She was a member of the Methodist Church, Joseph Chapter No. 67 of the Order of Eastern Star, and Silver Lake Rebekah Lodge No. 121 of Joseph. Survivors include a son, Roy M. Thompson of Alder Slope; three daughters Mrs. Ethel Needham of Clarkston, Mrs. Vaunie Warnock of Enterprise, and Mrs. Lawrence (Ilene) Potter of Joseph, one brother Summer Rodriguez of Corvallis, one sister Mrs. A.B. (Blanche) Berg of Toledo, ten grandchildren, thirty great grandchildren and eight great-great grandchildren. Memorial services were held Monday at 2:00 p.m. at the Bollman Chapel with Rev. Lester T. Wells officiating. Mrs. Luella Miller was organist, and Rev. Douglas T. Field sang “Will There Be Any Stars In My Crown” and “The Old Rugged Cross.” Honorary pallbearers were Frank Shevlin, Jack Morrow, Platt Talbott, Edward Quinn, Wilbur Reece, J.E. Butler, Willard Prout, Fred Himelwright and Floyd Kennedy and casket bearers were Fred Warnock, Jay and Rodney Potter, Mark and Dan Marks, and Don Conrad.
