From my own research there are many instances of inaccurate information in this book.  Please verify your information with other sources.   Mr. Ward does however, provide many names of people living in the area during this period of time.  Surnames such as:  Gee, Ward, Barr, Demaray, Varnum, Venning, Plaxton, Springs, Amosse, Martin, Groat, Marsh, Whitby, Pickering, Darlington, Coate, Lane, Rouse, Rogerson, Pyatt, Moakese, Purdy, Jackson, Molesworth, Cameron, Myrick, Glendenning, Cowan, Strathdee, Shielse, Campbell, Watson, McCallum, Mossop, Graham, Spence, Finlay, Buchanan, Smith, Jelly, Parslow, Morrise, McKee, Sharpe, Newell, Russell, Daken, Hartel, Scott, Baker, Knapp, Johnson, Sadler, Secord, Rickard, Frank, Vincent, Pocock, York. Grant, Eaton, and Wait.  Most of these families were from England, Ireland, and Scotland.
