Ingram, Marjory May Muzzy Mrs. – Obituary

May 13 Marjory May Ingram, 87, died May 11, 2009, in an assisted care facility at Richland, Wash., where she had been living for 6 1/2 years.

Her graveside service will be at 2 p.m. Friday at Greenwood Memorial Terrace, 211 N. Government Way in Spokane, Wash.

Marjory was the youngest of seven children born to Frank and Alma Muzzy at Baker City. Her brothers, Robert, Paul, Vern, and Sidney Muzzy, and one sister, Violet Judd, all died earlier.

Marjory attended two years of college at La Grande where she met her future husband, Luther Ingram, who was stationed nearby with the Army Air Corps. She went on to teach for a short time before joining the WACs where she served until the end of World War II.

She and Luther were married July 18, 1944, and spent their honeymoon at Niagara Falls.

Her life was one of constant travel with her husband and later her three children as they moved from base to base as a military family.

Marjory was known to say her middle name was “go”.

Marjory went back to college and graduated in 1966 from Central State College (now the University of Central Oklahoma) in Edmond, Okla., with a bachelor’s degree in elementary education and a minor in German.

She loved to read, knit, write letters, pet her cats and spend time with her family and friends. She was a longtime Christian and her family members said they are comforted by the fact that she is at home with the Lord.

Marjory is survived by her children: Linda Flackus of Beavercreek, Richard Ingram of Fort Lewis, Wash., and Ronald Ingram of West Richland, Wash.; her grandchildren: Jennifer Frankovic of Richland, Wash., Jonathan Ingram of West Richland, Wash., and Jason, Joel and Jessica Ingram of Veradale, Wash.; and a sister, Verna Carruth of Brea, Calif.

Her husband of 47 years, Luther Ingram, died in 1991.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Lower Valley Hospice, 3920 Outlook Rd, Sunnyside, WA 98944.
