Mr. Shaw was a native of Sequim, Wash., and had only recently moved to Baker City. He was born on May 3, 1930, at Sequim, to Rollin Putnam and Daisy Bell Shaw, the second son of three.

Glen grew up in fertile farm country and always loved and appreciated good soil. He served his country in the U.S. Navy during the Korean conflict from 1949 to 1953 aboard the USS Bon Homme Richard aircraft carrier.

Glen married Loretta Clark on July 15, 1953, at the Logan LDS Temple. He graduated from Brigham Young University at Provo, Utah, in 1956 with a degree in secondary education with a major in mathematics. He taught high school in Wyoming, California and Utah.

He loved the internal combustion engine and at one time had engineered a motor that crossbred the two-stroke and four-stroke motors. He designed a mini bike in the 1970s that was technologically advanced for its time.
Mr. Shaw owned one of the first Honda Motorcycle dealerships in Utah, and he loved to race the bikes.

Glen was a convert to the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints at the age of 19. He remained active and faithful throughout his life. Glen served a mission with his wife to Malaysia for his church from 2001 to 2003. He considered it one of his most beloved ventures.

Survivors include his wife; seven children; 28 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and two brothers.
Arrangements are under the direction of Gray’s West & Co. Pioneer Chapel.
