Reese, Grover P. – Obituary

Grover P. Reese,76, of Milan, Ind., a former Baker City resident, died Aug. 14, 2009, at the Dearborn Hospital in Lawrenceburg, Ind.

His funeral was Aug. 18. Burial was at St. Paul Lutheran Cemetery in Milan. Mr. Reese was born on Feb. 6, 1933, at Drewsey to Grover and Dorothy Parvin Reese He married Thelma Gulley Reese on April 17, 1954.

He was a 1950 Baker High School graduate and joined the Army Airborne after graduation. He served during the Korean War and was a member of the Milan American Legion Post 235.

He also belonged to the AF & AM Masonic Lodge, Thrivent for Lutherans, a former member of the Milan Volunteer Fire Department and a longtime member of St. Paul Lutheran Church at Milan.

Mr. Reese managed home improvement stores for several years and worked for 20 years as a truck driver for the Aurora Casket Co.

Survivors include his wife of 55 years, Thelma; a son, Paul; daughter-in-law, Pat; two grandchildren, Tyler and Kelsey Reese; and two sisters, Geraldine Pickett and Patricia Adlum, both of Eugene.
