Prominent Local Educator Dead
Mrs. A.E. Ivanhoe, prominent Eastern Oregon educator and resident of LaGrande for many years, passed away in Portland at the St. Vincent’s hospital, Friday of last week.
Mrs. Ivanhoe has been seriously ill for some time but recently her condition improved slightly, giving hopes for her recovery. She was 72 years of age and had been school superintendent of Union county for 11 years, quitting that office only a few years ago.
