Cochran, Margaret L. “Mary” Born Mrs. – Obituary

Margaret L. ‘Mary’ Cochran, 78, of Baker City, died Feb. 14, 2005, at St. Lukes Regional Medical Center in Boise.

Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10 a.m. Friday at St. Francis de Sales Cathedral, First and Church streets. The Rev. Robert C. Irwin will celebrate the Mass. There will be a graveside service at 1:30 p.m. Friday at the Prairie City Cemetery. Pastor Darrell Johnson of Grace Chapel of Prairie City will officiate. Visitations will be until 7 o’clock tonight at Coles Funeral Home, 1950 Place St.

Mrs. Cochran was born on Feb. 18, 1926, at John Day to Carl and Mabel Gunther Born. She was raised in Grant County and received her education in Grant and Baker counties.

She married Laurance W. “Larry” Cochran on April 6, 1947, at John Day. In 1954, they moved from Prairie City to Baker City. Mrs. Cochran worked for the Baker County Education Service District for 22 years.

She enjoyed doing crafts and was an avid reader. She enjoyed fishing and loved animals. She dearly loved her grandkids. Mary was able to see the funny things in life. She loved life and her family. She was a member of St. Francis de Sales Cathedral.

Survivors include her husband, Laurance W. “Larry” Cochran of Baker City; daughter, Linda Cochran of Ontario; daughter and son-in-law, Vickie and Lee Mullin of Prairie City; granddaughter and grandson-in-law, Elizabeth Mullin and Damon Pope and great grandson, Zachary; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Darrell and Dorothy Johnson; several stepgreat-grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.

She was preceded in death by her parents.
