At his home in Scio, Oregon, October 18, 1901, with cancer of the throat, Peter Bilyeu, aged 64 years, 2 months and 21 days.
Mr. Bilyeu had been sick about two years and he bore his sufferings without complaining.
He was married to Miss Elizabeth Brenner on November 17, 1859 to them were born five children: Mrs. Nancy Morrow, Mrs. Laura Paul, Jeff Bilyeu, Evert Bilyeu, and Brenner Bilyeu all who survive him.
