The body of A. Bacon, who was supposed to have been murdered by Sam Walters a few weeks ago, has been found on the bank of Snake river several mailes below the ferry by some men hunting for stock. The body was much disfigured by birds, but the glass eye which Bacon was known to wear was found near the head. This completes a chain of evidence which leaves no doubt as to Walters guilt. Walters asked a continuance of his case last week to enable him to send east for money to assist him in his defence, which was granted by the Court.
Had he consented to a trial he would probably been cleared; but finding the body of Bacon puts a different face upon the matter.
