Devereux, Henry Kelsey; railway supplies; born, Oct. 10, 1860; son of Gen. J. H. and Antionnette Kelsey Devereux; educated, Brooks Military Academy, Cleveland, scientific course, Sheffield College, Yale, graduating in 1883; married, Mildred Abeel French; issue, one son, Julius French, and one daughter, Aileen Mildred; civil engineer on the Cleveland, Columbus & Cincinnati R. R., located in Cleveland, and engaged in the railroad supply business; mgr. Chicago-Cleveland Car Roofing Co.; director American Sportsman Co. and The Roadside Club; moving spirit in organizing the Forest City Live Stock & Fair Co., which built the North Randall trotting track; from boyhood, a great lover of horses; owner of the celebrated stallion John A. McKerron; pres. The Forest City Live Stock & Fair Co.; pres. the Grand Circuit, and Gentleman’s Driving Clubs, of Cleveland, and League of Amateur Driving Clubs and sec’y the American Ass’n of Trotting Horse Breeders; head of the leading organizations that control both amateur and professional racing; member Delta Psi Fraternity, Yale, Country, Roadside and Tavern Clubs; country homes at Wickliffe and North Randall.
