Biographical Sketch of Albert Grossman

Grossman, Albert; merchant; born, Bacska, Hungary, July 20, 1867; son of William and Celia (Kestenbaum) Grossman; attended school in Ungvar, Hungary, up to age of 15; immigrated to this country, and came direct to Cleveland, attended public school for one year, and business college for six months, taking up stenography, married, Cleveland, Oct. 25, 1898, Helen Drechsler; issue, one son and two daughter; upon arrival in 1872, worked at odd jobs for two years; then was for two years in the press and mailing room of the Cleveland Leader; April, 1886, went to work for Runyon, Stubbs & Mack, iron ore merchants; has been with the concern and its successors without interruption ever since; sec’y and treas. The Struthers Furnace Co., The Plastico Non-Staining Cement Co., The Struthers Coal & Coke Co., New Salem Supply Co.; partner of Runyon-Fairbank Co.; member Deak Lodge, No. 334, Knights of Pythias, Hungarian Benevolent Society and Social Union; member Athletic, and Standard Clubs, and Chamber of Commerce.
