Sent to Camp Jackson, S. C. Transferred to Camp Sevier, S. C., then to Camp Merritt. Sailed for France May 11, 1918. Was in all engagements with his regiment. Wounded at Ypres and Hindenburg Line by shell and gas. Sent to Hospital, 1st Canadian Genl. Returned to USA April 2, 1919. Mustered out at Camp Jackson April 8, 1919.
