Mechanic, Engineers, 149th Co. 17th Div., R. R. Eng.; of Guilford County; son of Mr. and Mrs. M. L. Burke. Husband of Mrs. G. H. Burke. Entered service July 18, 1916, at High Point, N.C. Sent to Ft. Bliss, Texas. Transferred to Camp Glenn, then to Camp Sevier. Sailed for France March 31, 1918. Landed back in USA June 1, 1919, at Philadelphia, Pa. Mustered out at Camp Dix, N. J., June 4, 1919.
