Sergt., M. P., 81st Div.; of Sampson County; son of George W., Sr., and Mrs. Susan Sugg. Entered service Sept. 7, 1917, at Snow Hill, N.C. Sent to Camp Jackson, S. C. Transferred to Camp Sevier, S. C. Sailed for France August, 1918. Promoted to Corpl. January, 1918; Sergt. February, 1918. Fought at Meuse-Argonne. Returned to USA June 5, 1919. Mustered out at Camp Jackson, S. C., June 15, 1919.
