Entered the service at Wilmington, N.C., May 17, 1918. Sent to Camp Jackson, S. C., and then transferred to Camp Sevier, S. C. Sailed for France, July 3, 1918. Promoted to Sergt. Sept., 1918. Fought at Vosges Mts. Was in 5th Army Training School from Oct. 10, 1918, to Nov. 11, 1918. Returned to the USA May 31, 1919, and mustered out of the service at Camp Mills, N. Y., June 3, 1919.
