Buzzell Benway

1. BUZZELL BENWAY was b. in Grantham June, 1805; m. , Harriet Muzzy, b. April, 1813, and d. May 25, 1883. They came to Cornish about 1846, and lived near Croydon line on the Notch road, uppermost house. He d. Oct. 15, 1882. He sold out his mountain farm about 1878 (?) and removed from town. Children:

i. LEMUEL, b. Oct. 9, 1832, in Grantham; m. – , Sarah Churchill of Cornish, dau. of Lewis and Ruth (Quimby) Churchill, b. Jan. 28, 1830, and d. May 12, 1874. Lemuel was a generally useful man. He d. March 29, 1890. They left one son: Arthur L., b. March 18, 1860, who m. Nov. 16, 1880, Sarah J. Tandy of Lempster, b. Aug. 15, 1857, and d. April 20, 1900, leaving one child, Lucy E., b. Sept. 21, 1881. Arthur L. has res. in Lempster since Nov. 1, 1881; a prominent citizen.
ii. ASA, b. 1835; m. June, 1861, Philena A. Fay. Enlisted in Civil War and was killed in Battle at Waynesboro, Va., March 2, 1865. (See Military.)
iii. BETSEY, b. ; m. Theron A. Clough. Four children.
iv. LYDIA, b. , 1840; d. Oct. 10, 1850.
v. REUBEN T., b. Jan., 1843. Enlisted in the Civil War and d. in Washington, D. C., Nov. 12, 1863. (See Military.) He m. Sept. 29, 1862, Nancy A. Kidder of Cornish, dau. of James and Sarah (Burr) Kidder, b. June 105, 1843. No issue. His wid. afterwards m. Henry H. Sanderson. (See Sanderson.) She d. March 9, 1906.
