Married January 20, 1900, Dr. Samuel Ralston Bates, born Jan. 2, 1870 in Winchester, Tenn. He graduated from the Medical Department of Vanderbilt University in May 1897.
The heads of the Scottish house of Lindsay at different dates were Sir Walter Lindsay in 1116 A. Richard the Good, was the son of Richard I, Duke of Normandy and he was the son of William “Longsword’ Duke of Normandy from 927 to 943. Duke William was the son of Robert, the king who overrun northern France, married in 912 Gisele, daughter of Charles IV, King of France and became the first Duke of Normandy in 911. Duke Robert was the son of Regvald the Rich, Jarl of Norway.
