Lorentzen, Emma – Obituary

Emma Duncan Lorentzen, 73, 1905, Cherry St. died Tuesday afternoon at St. Elizabeth Hospital. Services will be conducted at 3 p.m. Friday at West and Co. Chapel with the Rev. Allen Lambert officiating. Interment will be in Mt. Hope Cemetery with the Pomona Grange conducting graveside rites.

Mrs. Lorentzen, daughter of Milt and Virginia Hoit, was born in Andrew County, Mo., on Feb. 27, 1887, and came to Baker County in 1892. She married Win H. Duncan at Baker in March of 1911. He died in August of 1945. Mrs. Duncan than married Albert P. Lorentzen on May 9, 1959.

Mrs. Lorentzen was a member of the Rebekah Lodge, Missouri Flat Grange, Barracks 78 Auxiliary of World War I Veterans, Pomona Grange, the state and national granges, and the Pioneers Assn.

She served as treasurer of Pomona Grange for 18 years and was president of the Baker County Historical Society for several years. Mrs. Lorentzen organized the Friendly Club of Baker.

Survivors are the widower, Albert, of Baker; a son, Roscoe E. Duncan of Keating; two daughters, Mildred W. Williams of Portland and Wilma Y. Bennett of Klamath Falls; two sisters, Matilda A. Willingham of Elgin and Linnie Gilkison of Keating; 11 grandchildren; three great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
