Start Now Enterprise, Wallowa County, Oregon Ettie Virginia Arnold of Enterprise died at the University of Oregon Medical Center in Portland on April 21, 1989. She was born April 20, 1921, at West Jefferson, N. C., the daughter of Jesse and Nellie Lewis. On Aug. 5, 1939 she married Quincy A. Arnold at Mount City, Tenn. The Arnold family moved to Enterprise in 1972. She was a homemaker and a member of the Flat Grove Baptist Church. She loved making quilts, gardening, walking, canning, camping and most of all, attending yard sales. Discover your family's story. Enter a grandparent's name to get started. Start Now Enterprise, Wallowa County, Oregon Gwyn E. Lewis, 65, died at home in Enterprise May 27, 1999. He was born at West Jefferson, N.C. Sept. 12, 1933, to Jesse and Nele Lewis. He moved to Oregon in 1952. Gwyn married Peggy Trump on May 13, 1953. They were married 46 years in May. Gwyn enjoyed golfing, fishing, hunting and family outings. Gwyn worked in the woods logging most of his life. He retired from Wallowa County Grain Growers as a gas truck driver. He enjoyed attending the grandchildren’s sports events. He was known as Papa to all the children who came through the door a total of 23 years. Peggy has had the daycare in their home. Many a day you would find him holding a child on his lap or teaching them to gold or fish out their driveway. He is survived by his wife, Peggy; sons Carcy Lewis and family of Joseph; daughters, Sandy Beaudoin and family of Enterprise and Linda Shirley and family of La Grande; and a total of 15 grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents Jesse and Nele Lewis; two sisters and two brothers; and infant daughter. Arnold, Quincy Albert – Obituary

Start Now Enterprise, Oregon Quincy Albert Arnold Quincy Albert Arnold Sr., 86, died Nov. 9, 2004, at Wallowa Memorial Hospital. He was born to Alvin and Cora Arnold in West Jefferson, N.C., in 1918. He married Ettie Virginia Arnold in 1939, who passed away in 1989. They lived in North Carolina before settling in Enterprise. He served in the Army in 1944, and was in construction as a carpenter until retirement. During retirement he loved building furniture, going to yard sales and getting wood for winter. He also enjoyed sitting on his swing and looking at the mountains while telling jokes. Survivors include two sons, Quincy Arnold Jr. and his wife Lana of Joseph, and Jones Arnold and his wife Carol of Jonestown, Pa.; and two daughters. Joyce Weidman of Peach Bottom, Pa., and Merinda Jensen and her husband Ron of Enterprise. He is also survived by a sister, Beryl Bumgardner of West Jefferson, N.C.; 11 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and companion Opal Patton. Three brothers and five sisters preceded him in death. Services were held on Nov. 15, 2004, with internment at Enterprise Cemetery. Memorial donations can be made to the Wallowa Valley Health Care Foundation, in care of Bollman Funeral Home.
