Lee, Geneva Hodges – Obituary

Geneva Lee, native Ellensburg resident, died at Bernath Nursing Home, Monday, Jan. 20, 1969, at the age of 81. She was born here July 11, 1887, and moved to Waterville as a small child, she later returned to Ellensburg to make her home. She was married to William Mack Lee, Oct. 5, 1904 in North Yakima. He preceded her in death in 1949. They farmed here in the Valley and were the owners of racehorses. They made their home at 804 E. 4th St., were members of the Christian Church. She is survived by one son, Melvin Lee, Seattle; a stepdaughter, Mrs. Dean Hortin, Manson, Wash.; and three step grandchildren. Funeral services will be at the Evenson Chapel, Thursday, Jan. 23, 10 a.m. Rev. Maurice Swisher will officiate and burial will follow in the IOOF...

Meador, Mary Howell Mrs.

Mary Meador, 93, of East Wenatchee, Wash., a former Baker City resident, died March 14, 2005, at her home. There will be a family memorial service at East Wenatchee. Burial will be at the Prairie City Cemetery. Mrs. Meador was born on June 21, 1911, at Prairie City to George Custer and Edna Pearl Howell. She shared ranching with her husband, Garland T. Meador, on their Prairie City cattle ranch for 50 years until retirement when they moved to Baker City and Palm Springs, Calif. For the past 11 years she had lived at East Wenatchee to be near her family. Survivors include her daughter, Jane, and son-in-law, L.L. “Skip” Nagler, four grandchildren and six great-grandchildren, all of Washington; a sister, Barbara Reynolds of Prairie City; foster daughter-in-law, Kay Barnhart of Redmond and three foster grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; two brothers, Glenn and Arden Howell; and foster son, Wayne Pierce.
