He was 57. Funeral services will be held May 8 at 2 p.m. at Baker United Methodist Church in Baker City. A full obituary will run in next week’s paper. Siegrist, Echo Marie – Obituary

La Grande, Union County, Oregon Echo Marie Siegrist of 1901 Foley Street died at her home Thursday, Aug. 12. She was 77. Mrs. Siegrist was born in Condon, Aug. 4, 1905 and in later years married Kendrick W. Siegrist. They made their home in La Grande for many years. She is survived by a son, Paul L. Siegrist and two grandsons, Christopher Michael and Brian Edward Siegrist, all of Foster City, Calif. She was preceded in death by her husband in 1974, and by a son, Kendrick W. Siegrist, Jr. 1980. Graveside services will be at the Grandview Cemetery at 2 p.m. Monday, Aug. 16 with Rev. David Moore of the St. Peters Episcopal Church officiating. Charles “Chuck” Anderson, 57, of Plevna, Mont., a former Baker City resident, died April 30, 2006, at the Fallon Medical Complex in Baker, Mont. His funeral will be at 2 p.m. Monday at the Baker United Methodist Church, 1919 Second St., Pastor Jack Bynum of the church will officiate. Vault interment will be at Mount Hope Cemetery. There was a service today at Peace Lutheran Church at Plevna, Mont. Chuck was born on Aug. 6, 1948, at The Dalles to Eldon James and Roberta May Griffin Anderson. He grew up and attended elementary school and high school at Condon, where he graduated in 1966. Chuck attended Central Oregon Community College at Bend where he earned a degree in natural resources. He enlisted in the U.S. Army and served during the Vietnam War. After completing military service, Chuck returned to John Day, where he began working in range management for the U.S. Forest Service. In 1980, he was transferred to Joseph, where he remained until 1993. He enjoyed working in the field with his string of pack mules and going down to The River (his name for the Snake River). After his retirement in 1993, Chuck purchased a ranch in Baker City where he fulfilled a lifelong goal of raising cattle and horses. While living in Baker City, he met Kathleen Foster.
