Since 1914 the most enlightened tenets of medical and surgical science have found expression in the career of Dr. Clark L. Myerly, one of the younger practitioners of the Jewell County fraternity, who had already made a well-established place for himself in the confidence of the people of Burr Oak. While the period of his practice as compared with those of many of his fellow-physicians in the county is short, it had been his fortune to have so impressed the people of the community with his skill and thoroughness that he had been able to build up a large professional business, and his devotion to the best ethics of his calling had given him standing and reputation as a reliable devotee of his honored science. Clark L. Myerly was born in Jewell County, Kansas, January 5, 1886, and is a son of L. S. and Ella (Hartley) Myerly. The family originated in Europe, from whence the grandfather came at an early day, being the founder of the family in Iowa, where was born L. S. Myerly in 1859.
