Mrs. Robert Bates Answers Call
Mrs. Robert Bates of Joseph passed away June 11 at the Wallowa County hospital where she had been a patient for several months.
LuLu Frances Floyd was born on Oct. 30, 1878, in Nashville, Kentucky. When she was quite small her parents moved to Missouri.
On January 8, 1911, she was united in marriage to Robert Preston Bates. In 1912 they moved to Livingston, Mont. In 1938 the family moved to Joseph where they resided until her death.
She leaves to mourn her passing, her husband and one son, Van L. Bates, and a host of friends.
Funeral services were held from the Community church of Christ in Joseph Monday afternoon with Rev. Howard Pierce officiating, assisted by Rev. Haines and Rev. Ray from Enterprise. Internment was in the Prairie Creek cemetery.
