About Connecticut Historical Society Collections, Volumes VIII-IX, XI, XIII, XV-XVII, and XIX

The Connecticut Historical Society was established in 1825 in Hartford, Connecticut. Their goal is to preserve the history of the state of Connecticut and its people (The Connecticut Historical Society website). The Society has published a series containing items from their collection of historical documents. The volumes found in this database contain the papers of Roger Wolcott, the governor of Connecticut from 1750-54, the rolls and lists of Connecticut men in the Revolutionary War from 1775-83, the rolls of Connecticut men in the French and Indian War from 1755-62, correspondence and document papers during Jonathan Law's governorship of Connecticut from 1741-50, correspondence and document papers during Thomas Fitch's governorship of Connecticut from 1754-66, and correspondence and document papers during William Pitkin's governorship of Connecticut from 1766-69. Additional volumes from this series will be added to this database in the coming months.
