About Leavenworth, Kansas Funeral Home Records, 1942-1954

One of the earliest permanent settlements in Kansas, Leavenworth is located along the Missouri River less than twenty miles northwest of Kansas City. This database is an index to four large boxes of funeral packets containing a variety of information collected by the Sexton Funeral Home (now known as Belden-Sexton-Sumpter Funeral Chapels). The microfilmed funeral packets are held by the Leavenworth County Genealogical Society. Each record provides the decedent's name, microfilm reel number, and frame number for each reel. For researchers of ancestors from eastern Kansas this can be an illuminating index.
