About Aiken County, South Carolina Cemetery Inscriptions

Located in central South Carolina along the border with Georgia, Aiken County was formed in 1871. This database is a collection of records from five cemeteries in the county. The five cemeteries are St. Thaddeus Church Cemetery, Bethany Cemetery, Milbrook Baptist Church Cemetery, First Baptist Church Yard Cemetery, St. John Methodist Church Cemetery. In addition to providing the decedent's name, information regarding date of birth, death date, and other helpful facts are included. It contains the names of over 5,900 individuals. The First Baptist Church Yard Cemetery is located in Aiken city. The church was built in 1837. This cemetery includes both Union and Confederate State Army (CSA) soldiers.

St. John's Methodist Church Cemetery is located in the city of Aiken. The church was established in 1857. Some graves are marked with Confederate Veterans Markers (UVC).

St. Thaddeus Church Cemetery was established on 5 September 1842 and includes soldiers from the Confederate States Army (CSA).
