About Staten Island, New York Church Records, 1749-1828

Located in the southern-most county in New York, Staten Island was first settled by the Dutch. This database, originally published in 1909, is believed to be an almost comprehensive record of the births, marriages, and deaths of these Dutch setters between 1749 and 1828. Birth records provide the child's name, names of parents, and birth date. Records containing marriage information provide the bride and groom, maiden name, and marriage date. Death records include the decedent's name, and death date. With the names of about 11,000 persons, this database can be a helpful source of information to researchers of early residents of Richmond County.

The records in this database come from three churches on Staten Island:

Dutch Reformed Church of Port Richmond, baptisms 1696-1772.

United Brethren Congregation, births and baptisms, 1749-1853; marriages 1764-1863, deaths and burials 1758-1828.
