About Kansas Settlers, 1854-1879

On the 15th and 16th of September 1879, over 3,000 settlers of early Kansas gathered at Bismark Grove to celebrate the twenty-fifth anniversary of statehood. This database is a collection of information gathered at that meeting regarding the settlement of the state. Taken from a register now in the Kansas State Historical Society, each record reveals the attendee's name, birthplace, and birth date. Additionally, each person's settlement location is provided along with the date of their arrival in the state, and current residence. Page numbers refer to the original document. For researchers of early residents of Kansas, this can be a useful source of facts.
