Preserving genealogical documents for nearly a half a century, the Leavenworth County Genealogical Society is one of the most important such societies in Kansas and Missouri. This database, created by the society, is a name index of obituaries in four area newspapers in 1998. Compiled from the Tonganoxie Mirror, the Platte County Mirror, the Basehor Sentinel, and the Atchinson Globe, it contains the names of nearly 800 persons. Each record includes the name of deceased, and the date of publication. For researchers of Kansas and Missouri ancestors, this can be a useful index.
