About California, U.S., San Francisco Area Funeral Home Records, 1895-1985

Recorded on the forms are most of the information that would be found on a death certificate about the deceased such as name, surname, death date, place of death, place of burial, and possibly other information like gender, age, parents’ names, birth dates and places, etc. The data in the race field is as seen on the record; examples include Black and Caucasian. A death certificate is attached to some of the forms along with a copy of the newspaper obituary which could list the names of children, grandchildren, brothers, and sisters.
