Ferguson, George H. – Obituary

George H. Ferguson, 91, died at Haven House Monday. He was born April 30, 1882 in the Nanum district, son of James Ferguson and Elizabeth McEwen Ferguson. He was married to Marie Wright, Feb. 11, 1936 at Ellensburg and has farmed just east of Ellensburg since 1910.

He is survived by his wife, Marie, three daughters, Mrs. Thelma (John) Maxson of Bellevue, Mrs. Phyllis (Clifford) Gage of Ellensburg, and Mrs. Sandra (Gary) Reppe of Fountain Valley, California; and one step son, Ace Gage of Ellensburg, seven grandchildren; a brother, Ben Ferguson of Ellensburg; and a sister Mrs. Bessie Phelps of Ellensburg.

Funeral services will be Thursday at Evenson’s at 2 p.m., the Rev. James Carter officiating. Internment will follow at the IOOF mausoleum.


My records show a marriage date of July 11, 1936 not February. His first marriage was to Mayme Wyatt on December 30, 1906 and was divorced in 1935. Daughters Thelma and Phyllis are from his first marriage and Sandra is from the second. George died February 18, 1974.
