McMinn County, Tennessee Land Deeds

Researched, compiled and Edited By Reba Bayless Boyer

(Transcribed into electronic format by, Margaret A. Harris, Judy Dewberry, Dawn Todhunter, Barbara Cantrell, Sharee Creech Shermer, Larry Wilson, Paula C. Bosch, Nancy Skidmore, Sharon D. Romanek, Sharon Clement, Brenda Hartman, Martha Barker & Joyce G. Reece. Thank you to each and every one for their hours of dedicated volunteerism in seeing this document placed on the internet.)

(Disclaimer-They have tried to present this document in the most original format as possible. This wasn't always easy, so they allowed themselves leeway with some things... especially punctuation that made the document more difficult to read. No pertinent information has been changed, therefore, the reliability of the information remains irresolute.)

This electronic document was accomplished by several people, therefore, may not always appear the same. They thought it more important to get the document made available to researchers than worry about its appearance.

AccessGenealogy has taken the original electronic format and altered it's appearance so that it's content could be viewable from the web. Again, no changes were made to the actual content.

Explanatory Notes:

This book is not a index to the Deed Books of McMinn County

It is, rather, the product of my scrutiny, page by page, of twenty-two Grand and Deed books, 1820 - 1880 and my summary of any items which might be of interest to historians and genealogists. If the same information is given in two deeds, I used the earlier one.

If the name of a county or town is given without the name of the State, then the said county or town is in Tennessee.

The letters L-S and I-J in the original are often indistinguishable.
