State of Tennessee # Know all men by these presents: that, I, Thomas D.
Carter County. # Love, of the County and State aforesaid, do hereby
nominate, constitute and appoint my brother, Robt. Love, my attorney in fact to represent me in the adjustment of the business herein after specified in as full and ample manner as I could myself if I were present or as I am by virtue of the rights in me vested able to do. Whereas, my brother R. Love, has prepared a bill in chancery Court at Jonesboro asking the Chancellor to construe the Will of my Father, Thomas D. Love, also the Wills of my Mother, Anna Love, and sister, Saraphina C. Love, and for the purpose of settling the rights of all the heirs or legatees of my Father all the Wills now inconsequence of a disposition of all of the persons interested under the Wills aforesaid to settle out of the Court House upon such terms as may be equitable and just to all, and expedite in that way, the business as well as lessen the cost that would accrue by a long and unpleasant litigation. This instrument therefore is intended to vest my brother aforesaid with power to make any arrangement whatever that he may think just and equitable with Benjamin L. Dulaney, who is the Father and Guardian of Elkaney R. Dulaney, and with John I. Love and Evalina A.S. Love; and the terms of adjustment or basis of a decree that my brother may make with them which is to be the decree of the Court aforesaid, shall govern and forever bind me.
In testimony whereof I do hereby set my hand and my seal this 6th March, 1851.
Witness Thomas D. Love, (Signed)
N.G. Taylor,
