descendants of Elizabeth, one of who is Tate L. Ernest, Cashier of the Unaka National Bank, of Johnson City, Tenn.
Joseph Love was a very handsome young man; being about six feet in stature, black hair, brown complexion and brown eyes. He and Robert O. were very highly educated, and gave promise of a splendid career, but Joseph died rather young, and Robert destroyed his prospects by inveterate and immoderate use of Liquors. Robert C. Love has some descendants living in a section of country lying near Johnson City, and known as Cherokee. They have deteriorated every way, having been left without any thing, their Father, the said Robert, consuming all the wealth that was left him by extravagance and riotous living.

On the 8th day of Sept., 1835, Robert Love, the Elder, divided his Nola Chucky property between Dillard Love, of Macon County, North Carolina and the heirs of Thomas Dillard Love, of Washington County, East Tennessee. This property was formerly the property of the said Robert Love's Father-in-law, General Thomas Dillard. The above data is in the Records at Jonesboro, Washington County, Tennessee.-F.D. Love.

Dillard Love conveyed to Mary E. Love, daughter of Robert C. Love, Ninety-one acres of land in Cherokee District, Washington County, Tennessee, the consideration for same being LOVE and AFFECTION. Note-This was done by Dillard Love because the said Mary Love was destitute. Deed dated 1843, and on file in the Jonesboro Records-F.D. Love.

Copy of a letter from John Bell Love to Thomas Dillard
Love, his brother, and now in my possession.-F.D.Love
Waynesville, Nov. 18th, _____
Dear Brother:
I hasten to mention the official dispatch received from our Ministers a few days ago; after entering on the negotiations with the British Ministers; it was explicitly demanded by the British Commissioners as a sine quo non as the only condition on which they were instructed to treat with America that the United States should undo a way a large portion of the State of Ohio & Territories adjacent, as well as a portion of the Eastern parts of Massachusetts, & the obligation to keep up no defenses either by land or water; on these conditions they are willing to make peace.
I hope every man in the nation will unite in the struggle which is to determine whether the nations are to remain free or be enslaved. We once bought the same proud fool to yield to justice, & we are fully able for the task now. I am,
With love & Respect, &c.
John Bell Love,
(Addressed)
Capt. Thomas D. Love.
Favor per # Carter County,
William C. Love# East Tennessee.
