Biographical Sketch of E. F. Gifford

E.F. Gifford, barber, was born in Erie County, Pa., in 1854; came to Iowa in 1871, and located at Independence. He removed to Carroll, and in July, 1872, came to Sac City and engaged in present business. He owns the building, or which he occupies one-half of the lower floor for a barber shop, renting



John James Gifford

Enlisted in the United States Naval Reserve Force on June 6th, 1918, and called to active duty at Norfolk, Va., August 10th. Detailed as seaman, second class, on transport Pastores in September and after one trip to St. Nazaire, France, rated Yeoman, 3rd class. Promoted to Yeoman, 2nd class, and placed in charge of entertainment



Biographical Sketch of William Gifford

William Gifford who. according to Huntington’s “History of Stamford, Connecticut,” was sentenced by the court of that settlement to be whipped and banished in 1647 or prior to that time. He is in all probability the same of the name living in Sandwich, Massachusetts, and a member of the grand inquest at Plymouth in 1650.
