Ormsby, Ada Katherine Roberts Barber

The following data is extracted from Canyon County, Idaho Obituaries.

Services for Ada K. Ormsby, 77, of Nampa, who died Tuesday, Feb 19 [1985], in a Nampa hospital, will be conducted at 3 p.m., Friday at the Alsip Funeral Chapel, Nampa.

The Rev. Rand Sargent of the Fruitland Methodist Church will officiate. Interment will follow in the Kohlerlawn Cemetery.

Mrs. Ormsby was born Feb. 18, 1908, in Pine, to Lewellyn and Cordelia Roberts. She was reared and educated in Pine and Featherville. She married Walter D. "Buck" Ormsby in 1933 at Mountain Home. They came to Nampa that same year where he went to work for the railroad. Mr. Ormsby died in 1953 and she had resided in Nampa since.

She is survived by three daughters, Veryla Barningham of Salt Lake City, Utah, Muriel Dowell of Meridian and Louise Acree of Nampa; two sons, Ronald Ormsby of Parma and Louis Ormsby of Portland, Ore., six sisters, Goldie Horst of Centralia, Wash., Mellie Burnet of Elma, Wash., Edith Ormsby of Chehalis, Wash., Lillian Peste of Shelton, Wash., Veryla Gibbs of North Bend, Ore., and Myrtle Carlson of Fortuna, Calif.; one brother, Charles Roberts of Boise; 17 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; six great-great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.

Besides her husband she was preceded in death by a son, Norman in 1983, one sister, Elsie, in 1977, and one brother, Ed, in 1939.

Friends may call at the Alsip Funeral Chapel until 9 tonight and Friday from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m.
