The following data is extracted from The Book of Clevelanders, A Biographical Dictionary of Living Men of the City of Cleveland, Burrows Book Company, 1914.

Ruple, Franklin H.; merchant and teaming contractor; born, Euclid Township, Ohio, May 19, 1848; son of Cyrus and Julia Hitchcock Ruple, educated in schools of Euclid; married, Euclid, O., Feb. 12, 1871; Mary C. Seaber; issue, five children, three living; served as councilman of Village of Collinwood for six years, and marshall of the village for two years; in 1874, started in express business between Collinwood and Cleveland; continued this until February, 1883, then opened livery and boarding stable; following year, started a hotel in connection with his livery business; continued this business for over three years; then went into the coal and teaming business; has served as trustee of Collinwood Congregational Church for about eight years; charter member of Knights of Pythias, Lakeside Lodge, No. 367; member Men's Club, Coffinwood Congregational Church.
