Krause, Frank S.; real estate dealer; born, Cleveland, Nov. 1, 1862; son w Conrad B. and Mary Boyes Krause; educated, Cleveland Grammar School; married, Cleveland, Nov. 21, 1890, Anna Scharr; two daughters, Gladys and Myrtle; at age of 16, wholesale grocery and Biglow Commercial Line to 1898; joined The New York Life Agency force, gen. agt. 3 years; left them after five years, becoming gen. mgr. for Fidelity Mutual of Philadelphia; in 1905, took up real estate business; pres. The Frank & Krause Co.; also The Valley Realty and The After Auto Body Co., The General Underwriting Co., and The Low Cost of Living Co.; member Ohio Tax League; one of the original members of the Cleveland Art Club; member Advisory Committee, Associated Charities; active in politics since 1880, when Garfield was elected President; a Democrat in belief; favor Non-Partisan Home Rule and Public Ownership; pres. of the 30-cent Egg Club, believing it a crime to gamble in food stuffs; member Cleveland Lodge of Elks, B. P. O. E. No. 18 (for 25 years); Baseball fan since the time of the Forest City Club; member Men's Club, East End Baptist Church; active in handling boys of the Juvenile Court and State Reformities.
