Meacham Cemetery

The following data is extracted from Union County, Oregon Cemetery Collection.

In triangular patch of forest formed by US Highway 1-80N, Meacham Lake road, and frontage road; is about 100 yards south of the freeway at a point just west of the overpass. From Meacham Store take Meacham Lake road under freeway to forks just south of overpass. Right hand fork curves west; at this point cemetery is 100 yards due north up hill, on foot, through wire gate above road. Is in Umatilla County, in Section 3, T .l S, R. 35 E.

Of approximately 15 recognizable gravesites, none could still be identified by name in 1972. The following inscriptions were recorded in 1947:

GLENN, Octavia; b 12 Dec 1876; d 16 Jun 1895
BURGHETT, W.S.; b 7 Sep 1913; d 7 Sep 1917
Other persons known to have been buried here:

DOCKWEILER, John F.; son of John J. DOCKWEILER and Marie Vogler DOCKWEILER;
interred in this cemetery CONNELL, Baby; child of Ward Connell; d c l925
