The following data is extracted from Counties Of Todd And Christian, Kentucky - Todd.
DR. I. N. WALTON was born in Henry County, Tenn., August 19, 1827, and is a son of Simeon and Mary (Henry) Walton. Mr. Simeon Walton was a native of Louisa County, Va., having been born there in 1789, but his parents were of Welsh descent. He came to Robertson County, Tenn., when two years old, with his parents, where the latter died. Simeon grew to manhood in that county, married Miss Henry, who was a native of that county. In 1811 he came to Henry County, Tenn., where he lived until his death, which occurred in 1865. While a resident of that -county he served as a Magistrate. He was a member of the Christian Church. His wife died in 1852. Subject was the seventh of ten children, of whom seven are now living, viz.: Mrs. Martha Crosk, in Bell County, Tex.; Nelson, in Bell County, Tex.; Frank B., in Fort Worth, Tex.; George W., in Bell County, Tex.; Isaac N., our subject; L. N., in Henry County, Tenn.; and Mrs. Louisa V. Williams, in Shelby County, Tenn. Subject's education was obtained at McLemoresville College, Carroll Co., Tenn. He read medicine with his uncle, Dr. T. J. Walton, in Robertson County, Tenn., for three years, and in 1852 and 1853 attended lectures at Louisville. Returning to Robertson County he began the practice of his profession in that county with his uncle. Here he remained until 1855, and then came to Keysburg, Logan County. At this point he remained three years. In 1857 he came to this county and settled on his present farm. Here he practiced his profession until 1868. He then moved to Nashville, where he remained four years. Returning to this county he turned his attention to agricultural pursuits, owning at present about 1,600 acres, of which 1,100 acres are in cultivation. Dr. Walton was married on November 2, 1856, in Logan County, to Miss Olive C. Watkins, a daughter of William and Susan (Cheatham) Watkins. The father was a native of Logan County, his people being natives of North Carolina. He is still living, and is at present devoting his attention to financiering. The mother died in 1881. Mrs. Walton was born in Logan County on February 1, 1832, and is the mother of two children, one of whom-Frank B is living. He is married and is living at home. Mr. and Mrs. Walton are members of the Baptist Church. Mr. Walton is a member of Western Star Lodge, No. 9, A. F. & A. M., of Spring-field, Tenn.
