The following data is extracted from Muskogee And Northeastern Oklahoma.

Floyd Ray Hill, Secretary and manager of the Muskogee Home Building Company, was born in Barton County, Missouri, March 11, 1888. He obtained a public school education and in his youth was employed in connection with horse racing. He was afterward with an importer of horses for a period of years and sold fine stock. In 1914 he engaged in the life insurance business in California, organizing the California State Life Company, which he represented as a salesman for a year and a half. He was afterward engaged in the insurance business in Arizona and in 1917 he came to Muskogee, where he organized and assisted in financing the Oklahoma Automobile Manufacturing Company. With that business he was associated until February, 1921, when he organized the Muskogee Home Building Company for the purpose of building houses for sale on the monthly payment plan. He has since been Secretary and manager of the business which has steadily developed. The company erects houses at a cost of from six thousand to eighty-five hundred dollars and already has contributed in considerable measure to the improvement and architectural adornment of the city through its operations. Mr. Hill is actuated by a progressive spirit in all that he undertakes and his energy and well defined purpose are producing substantial results.
On the 25th of September, 1912, Mr. Hill was united in marriage to Miss Grace Watkins of Bokoshe, Oklahoma, and they have become parents of a daughter, Ruth Elaine. Mr. Hill is fond of fishing and baseball and he has always been a lover of the noble steed. Fraternally he is connected with the Benevolent Protective Order of Elks. He belongs to the Sequoyah Club, to the Young Men's Christian Association and to the Chamber of Commerce connections that indicate the nature of his interests and activities and the rules which govern his conduct in all the relations of life. What he purposes and attempts he accomplishes. His plans are well defined and his industry is unfaltering and in the years of an active business career orderly progression has brought him to a prominent position in business circles in his adopted city.
