1771 Burials

The following data is extracted from Church Record of Old Ebenezer Church, Effingham County, Georgia.

Phoebe, a baptized Negro child belonging to Mrs. Lemking, died Feb. 18, 1771, and was buried the next day.

John Michael Bohrman died Feb. 17, 1771, and was buried on the 19th here at Ebenezer.

Matthias Schubdrein, 5 months old, died% 9 1771, and was buried in Zions Church.

Anna Eva, daughter of John Scheeraus, died at the age of 3 years and 2 months, and was buried June 3, 1771 here at Ebenezer.

Andrew Greiner of Halifax, died June 19, 1771, and received Christian burial on the 20th in the Plantation cemetery.

Anna Mary Kemler died July 11, 1771, and was buried July 12 in the cemetery at Ebenezer. Her age was 17 years. Funeral text: I Pet. 1:24, 25.

John George Eppinger, 3% years old, died Aug., 1771, and was buried the next day at Bethany.

Asa Remshardt, 10 months old, died Aug. 21, 1771, and was buried at Zion.

Mary Steiner, 4 years old, died Aug. 25, 1771, and was buried the next day at Zion.

N. Pferret, English, 16 years old, resident with her brother, Mr. Harret on Weinkauf's plantation, died Aug. 26, and was buried Aug. 28 at Bethany.

David Eichsperger, 60 years old, an old Salzburger, died Aug. 29, 1771 in the mill, and was buried the next day at Zion.

Mary Margaret, daughter of John George Zittrauer, 2 years and 9 months old, died Aug. 31, 1771, and was buried the next day.

Mary, daughter of George Ziegler, 8 years old, died Sept. 7, 1771, and was buried the next day.

Jacob Mohr, 60 years old, died Sept. 7, 1771, and was buried the next day at Ebenezer.

William Ewen Waldhauer, 2 1/2 years old, died Sept. I 1, 1771, and was buried the next day.

Solomon Kiefer, 3 years and 2 months old, died Sept. 28, 1771 in the night, and was buried the next day.

Samuel Heinle, one year old, died Sept. 18, 1771, and was buried the next day.

George Glauer, a Salzburger, 63 years old, entered into his rest Oct. 8, 1771, and was buried the next day. Funeral text: Rev. 5 :5 : "Weep not, behold the Lion," etc.

David Unselt died after an illness of 14 days from a fall from a horse at a hateful race Oct. 24, 1771, and was buried the next day.

Catharine Mary Rens, 1 year and 10 months old, died Nov. 3, 1771, and was buried the next day.

John Oechsle, 13 years old, died Nov. 16, 1771, and was buried the next day at Bethany.

Frederick Lackner died Dec. 10, 1771 from a blow from an axe, which crushed his skull and robbed him of his senses, received 14 days before at work on King's road. He was buried Dec. 11, 1771 in the cemetery at Zion.
