1767 Burials

The following data is extracted from Church Record of Old Ebenezer Church, Effingham County, Georgia.

Anna Catharine Bidenbach, a child of 3 years and 10 months, died Jan. II, 1767, and was buried on the 12th in Bethany.

Joseph Leitner died Jan. 4, 1767 in the night, and was buried the same day.

Roth, wife of the surgeon Roth, died Jan. 20, 1767, and was buried on the 21st in the Town cemetery.

Josiah Rieser died early on the 21st, and was buried toward evening of the same day. His age was 14 years, less 15 days. He was buried at the same time as Mrs. Roth.

John Meyer died Jan. 23, 1767, and was buried on the 24th in Bethany.

Barbara Bollinger died in the night before Jan. 29, 1767, and was buried in the afternoon of the same day.

Hans Schmidt, a man of 60 and some years, died Febr. 8, 1767, and was buried on the 8th. The funeral text was Rev. 14:13: "Blesses are," etc.

John Scheraus died March 23, 1767, and was buried on the 24th. Funeral text: Mark 13:37.

Michael Weber died in Bethany May 17, 1767, and was buried on the 18th in the Town cemetery.

Elizabeth Hesler died Sept. 20, 1767, and was buried on the 21st. Her age, 57 years.

Appollonia Mueller died Sept. 23, 1767 in the evening, and was buried on the 24th.

George Louis Roth died Oct. 27, 1767, and was buried on the 28th. He was a Catholic.

Daniel Remshardt died Oct. 29, 1767, and was buried on the 30th in Zions cemetery.

John Schuehle died Nov. 23, 1767, and was buried on the 24th. His age, 15 years.

John George Schneider died Nov. 30, 1767, and was buried the next day in the Plantation cemetery.

John Christopher Roth, a child of one year, died early on Dec. 8, 1767, and was buried in the afternoon.
